Application Case: Transfer of High-Viscosity Body Wash from IBC Container to Filling Supply Tank

A personal care product manufacturer required a hygienic pumping solution to transfer body wash from an IBC container to a filling supply tank. The product viscosity was approximately 8,000 cPs, and the customer was concerned about excessive foaming during the transfer process, which could negatively affect filling accuracy, product appearance, and production efficiency.

The customer required:

  • -Strong self-priming capability to draw product directly from the IBC container.

  • -Stable transfer of high-viscosity body wash with a viscosity of approximately 8,000 cPs.

  • -Low-shear pumping to minimize foam generation.

  • -Gentle product handling to preserve product quality and consistency.

  • -Hygienic construction suitable for personal care applications.

  • -Easy cleaning and maintenance between production batches.

The TAYEE hygienic rotary lobe pump was selected for this application due to its excellent self-priming performance and low-shear operating principle. The pump was able to efficiently draw body wash from the IBC container and transfer it to the filling supply tank while maintaining a smooth and stable flow.

Compared with high-speed centrifugal pumps, the rotary lobe pump significantly reduced product agitation and air entrainment, helping minimize foam formation during transfer. This allowed the customer to improve filling efficiency, reduce waiting time caused by foam settling, and maintain consistent product quality.

Results

  • -Successful self-priming transfer .

  • -Smooth handling of body wash with a viscosity of approximately 8,000 cPs.

  • -Reduced foam generation during product transfer.

  • -Improved filling efficiency and production stability.

  • -Hygienic operation suitable for personal care manufacturing.
